It’s not just chance that one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year takes place here: The Eroica, one of the most famous cycling races in history. In the Chianti Cycling Park there is over 400 kilometres for cyclists to get lost in, to escape the chaos and stress of everyday life.

This corner of Tuscany is not only the land of wine but also of ‘cycletourism’, where you can discover beauty while pedalling at a leisurely pace. The same can be done by horse lovers: there are many trails that you can explore with your best friend.

There is even a route you can take to immerse yourself in a fairy-tale world, where there is history and beauty in every corner – this is the Strada dei Castelli of Chianti. Gaiole in Chianti and Castelnuovo Berardegna, the perfect places to rediscover the noble era of Tuscany. If you would rather prefer to admire the skills of the master craftsmen of Chianti Fiorentino, there are many guided tours departing from the centre of Florence which take you through unusual routes, rich in culture.
