Sacred Art Museum in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa
In the Parish Church of San Pietro in Bossolo, a collection of artworks and artefacts from the territory are on display

The Museum of Sacred Art in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is housed in the rectory of San Pietro in Bossolo and has a collection of artworks, relics and documents coming from the churches that were under the jurisdiction of two parish churches: San Pietro in Bossolo and San Donato in Poggio.

There are many historic paintings coming from the churches once under the Parish Church of San Pietro in Bossolo, like the Madonna and Child attributed to Meliore and Mary, Our Lady of Graces by Rossello di Jacopo Franchi, as well as the panel paintings from the church of Santa Maria al Morrocco made by Neri di Bicci for Niccolò Sernigi and the works by Lorenzo di Bicci and Jacopo da Empoli, coming from the church of San Bartolomeo a Palazzuolo. And we can’t forget the priceless silvers, such as the 12th-century crosses and the monstrance by Nicola de Angelis from 1706.

The territory surrounding the Parish Chruch of San Donato in Poggio is represented by the two parishes of San Pietro a Olena and San Lorenzo a Cortine with relief paintings like the Triptych attributed to Ugolino di Nerio and the Madonna by the Maestro di Marradi, as well as 17th and 18th-century works and furnishings made in the workshops of Florentine silversmith like Zanobi Biagioni and Vittorio Querci.
