The Valdichiana is a hilly landscape crossing multiple Italian regions and originating in central Italy; until the end of the 18th century it was a marshy area, but when the Grand Duchy of Tuscany made a final reclamation it evolved into a rich agricultural territory. Its Tuscan components are divided into Sienese and Aretina sections.
