4 places to visit in the Chianti
Not only wine, but also art, countryside and delightful hills

It is easy to say that the identity of Chianti lies in its wine, but it would be a simplification: reducing the Chianti solely to Chianti does a disservice to its complexity, even if the act of naming the region conjures up an idea of aristocratic ruralness. It is defined neither by its many illustrious chateaux, nor by quaint feudal traditions, nor by the fact that it has welcomed the large portion of the modern nobility that has chosen to live here: those in show-biz, business, politics and the intelligentsia. No, it is the quality of its produce that determines the Chianti's exclusivity. In short, the wine is the result of the region, and not the other way around.
