"Il Paesaggio Ritrovato" (7th edition) is a program of walking excursions to discover the natural beauty of the land of Montaione and its surroundings. The excursions are organized by the Municipality of Montaione and curated by Montaione Natura.
On October, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3, an environmental guide will lead participants to admire the main natural attractions of Montaione, Gambassi Terme and San Gimignano.
In the Maurizio's Cave hikers will observe the sacred statues carved in the rock by Hermit Maurizio at the beginning of the 20th century, and in the valley of the Casciani stream they will admire the ruins of the mines and of the buildings active in the area between the 19th and the 20th century.
Inside the Natural Reserve of Castelvecchio hikers will follow the paths to discover the ruins of the medieval settlement of the same name and the various gorges and small canyons characterized by a different and vibrant vegetation.
Saturday, October 2 the meeting point is at 8.45 am at the parking of Poggio all'Aglione.
Sunday, October 3 the meeting is at 8.45 am at the Agriturismo "Natura e Salute", in Vagli, San Gimignano.
The hike is free, but reservation is required by Tuesday, September 28.
