Moments of life on the plain before, during and after the Etruscans

The exhibition, set up in the Ernesto Ragionieri Library in Sesto Fiorentino, presents part of the trousseau found inside the majestic Montagnola Tomb, one of the most important Etruscan funerary monuments in central Italy, and other extraordinary artifacts from the Sesto Fiorentino area, evidence of a history spanning millennia, from the Neolithic to the Roman age.

A unique opportunity to admire relics that are usually not visible because they are kept in storage.

The exhibition will remain open from September 29, 2023 to July 31, 2024, during the opening hours of the Ernesto Ragionieri Library, which can be viewed online at www.bibliosesto.it

The exhibition, conceived and curated by Valentina Leonini, archaeological officer of the Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape and Barbara Arbeid, curator of the Etruscan section for the pre-Hellenistic phases of the National Archaeological Museum in Florence, is organized by the City of Sesto Fiorentino in collaboration with SABAP Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the metropolitan city of Florence and the provinces of Pistoia and Prato and the Regional Museums Directorate of Tuscany - National Archaeological Museum of Florence, with the co-participation of the Regional Council of Tuscany as part of Etruscan Day 2023.
