You can't say you've visited Volterra without visiting an artisan workshop where alabaster is worked. This raw material with its particular brightness and consistency has been appreciated since ancient times and has a history that has been intertwined with the history of the city for centuries. 

Alabaster craftsmanship, dating back to the Etruscan era, is still handed down from father to son as a city and family heritage.

We will take a walk in the historic center, to discover the history of the city and visit a workshop to take a look to the creation of some wonderful objects made with this characteristic material.
