Francigena 4 kids
Walk along one of the most fascinating part of the Via Francigena in Tuscany, where kids will experience the life of medieval pilgrims
The Via Francigena has played a crucial role in the road network in Europe in the Middle Ages, as described by Sigeric, the archbishop of Canterbury, who wrote about it in his journal on his way back from Rome. Today this ancient road of history and spirituality, stretching from Canterbury to Rome, is walked by an increasing number of travellers and pilgrims, representing one of the most important historic paths in our Country.
The Via Francigena enters Tuscany through the Cisa Pass and cross the Magra valley in Lunigiana from Pontremoli to Aulla before continuing towards the sea.
Our guided tours of the Via Francigena aim at experiencing the sound of silence while walking this ancient mule tracks, across pristine rivers and chestnut woods, while learning tales of medieval pilgrims and travellers.
