Tour in Volterra, the fascinating Etruscan town
An experience to discover the town of one of the most ancient civilization in Tuscany, and to explore the Roman and medieval parts of this enchanting little city

I won't try to hide my passion for this fascinating, mysterious town. With this tour we will discover Volterra that once was one of the twelve capitals of the Etruscan kingdom, and it was three times larger than it is today. Now it's one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Tuscany, with its narrow streets lined with 13th-century tower-houses, 17th-century palazzos with a Florentine influence and the spectacular Piazza dei Priori, the natural framework from the Middle Ages, synonymous with artistic splendour and rigorous civic architecture. Stephanie Meyer's saga New Moon was greatly influenced by Volterra with Velathri, the old name for Volterra and, at the same time, the name of one of the families cited in the book.

The price of this offer is for all the party for a 2 hours tour, with a surprise at the end. We can extend it up to 3 hours in case you'd like to include a museum visit within the town.

You need a car to reach Volterra, but we can arrange a transportation service if needed.

Then the Roman Volterra, with the theatre and the spa, that is almost intact.

After these first two, we will walk in the Medieval part of the town, the most beautiful places here are: Piazza dei Priori and the government building, the cathedral with its elegant 13th-century pulpit and octagonal baptistery, the Buonparenti tower-houses, the narrow streets and all the buildings in the old centre of the town.

At the end we will visit the workshop of an alabaster artisan, just before a bubbling surprise...
