Chianti in a full day tour
Discover the heart of the charming Tuscan countryside, where everything is pure beauty: nature, history, and food and wine culture
by Karine Laborde

Chianti is a word that evokes history, wine and good food, all at the same time. The most famous Chianti vineyards in the world stretch out on the slopes of the lower Apennines in the south of Florence, together with olive groves, on a land that is completely uncontaminated and that offers wonderful panoramic views in every season.

With this tour we will drive you across one of the most beautiful area of Italy, following the Chiantigiana, the old Roman road from Florence to Rome, and during the trip we can stop at the Second World War American Cemetery for a visit.
When traveling around Chianti you cannot miss a visit to its castles, all of them still producing wine and belonging to famous families such as the Verrazzano, the Vespucci and the Uzzano. Visiting this properties, some of them built more than a thousand years ago, will let us understand the strategic importance that these castles once had, and the delicious wines they now produce.

Through the Countryside we will cross the small Apennines from Florence to Siena. We will stop in the small village of Castellina for a fantastic stroll under the ancient walls, and we will have fantastic panoramic view on the hills covered of vineyards and olive trees. On request, we can stop in a wine farm and taste some delicious red wine, then we can decide to have the lunch in the famous Dario Cecchini butcher shop in Panzano.

Itinerary will be tailor made according to the point of departure.

Our trip includes visits to the villages of Castellina and Radda in Chianti, but we can customise it and include more places to visit like the monastery of Passignano, the tiny stoned village of Montefioralle, and even the famous medieval town of San Gimignano.
