The Marino Marini Centre and Foundation is located in Pistoia in Palazzo Tau, which in the fourteenth century was the home of the Knight Hospitaller Sant’Antonio Abate and today is home to the Marini Foundation and Marini Documentation Centre, two organisations set up in honour of the Pistoiese artist. The foundation’s aim is the conservation, protection and promotion of his work, while the museum takes visitors on a route through Marini’s whole artistic journey. The centre also boasts a rich collection of sculpture, as well as a significant number of sketches, graphics, tempera and oil paintings. The gipsoteca houses more than one hundred coloured plaster casts, while the adjacent church has on display sculptures as famous as The Miracle (1953) and The Scream (1962).
