Civic Museum and Crociani Painting Gallery
The museum showcases about 180 paintings donated to the city of Montepulciano

Montepulciano Civic Museum has been located in the XIV century Palazzo Neri Orselli since 1954. It hosts around 180 paintings from the 14th - 19th centuries which were collected and donated to the city by the art collector and primicerius of the Cathedral Francesco Crociani.

The gallery includes history paintings, sacred and profane figures, portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, and still lifes. Alongside these, the visitor will find important works that came into the collection during the suppression of local convents in the 1800s, a series of Robbiana terracottas from the 1500s and a rich section of Etruscans and Romans finds from the territory of Montepulciano.
