Mostly portraits and landscapes are on display

The Palazzo Nerruci art collection in Castel del Piano, which comes from a private art collector’s personal patrimony, presents an evocative series of landscapes and views.

Among the works on display, the portraits stand out, among which is the prized self-portrait in pastel by Venetian artist Rosalba Carriera (1675-1757) and the portrait of Cosimo III dei Medici, also by a woman, executed in embroidered silk. In the same room, there is a sketch by Giuseppe Nicola Nasini.

The collection consists of a group of works inherited from the Vegni family at the end of the 19th century, who bequeathed it to the hospital in Castel del Piano.
